This is another version of "On The Executioner's Block" with a darker feel. I wasn't sure which one I liked better, so I decided to submit both versions.

My entry for the Envision The Executioner contest. I assumed the most frightening way to view an eight foot tall zombie wielding an axe... was at his feet with said axe about to come down upon your neck.
This guy was such a pain to draw, yet enjoyable. I had to model the pose and the entire axe in Maya so I could get the perspective correct. Sadly I wont have time to submit the model of the axe.
The background was interesting, as I spray painted it, then just slung droplets of the ink all over the place for the blood splatter. Whee!
